Plot The duo are homeless vagrants, until Ollie receives word that he has inherited a fortune from a deceased uncle. He buys a sumptuous mansion and makes Stan his butler. After a night of indulging in too much champagne, Ollie returns home intent on playing a series of cruel practical jokes on Stan. Stan retaliates by breaking nearly everything in the house. ''Early to Bed'' is a 1933 British-German romantic comedy film directed by Ludwig Berger and starring Heather Angel, Fernand Gravey and Edmund Gwenn. Production The film was made as a co-production between the German giant UFA and Gaumont British. As was common at the time, the film was made as a multiple-language production with three separate versions modelled on the German original ''I by Day, You by Night''. ''Early to Bed'' was made at the Babelsberg Studio in Berlin, along with the French and German versions. Robert Stevenson acted as a supervisor. The cartoon tells the story of Donald, who is trying to sleep, despite the annoyingly loud ticking of the clock keeping him awake. This short film not only portrays Donald as a human but also emphasises on a well known proverb, "Early to bed". Plot The film opens with Donald Duck yawning at the sunset, ready to go to bed, but when he lays down, he hits his head on the bed. He angrily moves down the bed, fluffs his pillow, and lays back down. As soon as his head touches the pillow, it explodes with a burst of feathers.
